Makeup for Deep-Set Eyes

Learn how to create easy eye makeup for deep-set eyes in a few simple steps. Eye makeup isn’t one size fits all, and there are many ways to enhance different eye shapes. Deep-set eyes are characterized by a deeper eye socket and pronounced brow bone. To make deep-set eyes pop, focus on brightening the lid and elongating your eye shape.

Start with a matte eyeshadow shade as your base (seen here is our Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Malted Pink). Opting for a shade that’s slightly lighter than your skin tone will help reduce shades on the lid.

Add a shimmer shade to the center of the lid (seen here is our Dual-Ended Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Pink Mercury). A touch of shimmer will catch the light and create the illusion of bringing deep-set eyes forward.

Apply a matte eyeshadow shade (seen here is our Dual-Ended Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Nude Beach) to the lower lash line and above the crease. This technique helps open up the appearance of deep-set eyes.

Apply Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner along the lash line with our Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. Build the thickness of the line from inner to outer corner to add horizontal dimension to deep-set eyes without taking up lid space. Extend the eyeliner slightly past the outer corner of the eye to elongate and open up the eye shape.

Finish your look with a few coats of Smokey Eye Mascara on upper and lower lashes. Wiggle the wand as close to the roots of the lashes as possible to create a seamless look with your eyeliner.
